Andrew David Watson
The son of a carpenter and the grandson of an auto-body mechanic, the urge to create, build, tweak, and make filled Andrew David Watson’s mind from a young age. Picking up his first camera at the age of 13, he hasn’t looked back. Building a career first as a talented and exacting cinematographer, he’s developed that eye for composition into an incisive filmmaker’s voice. Often combining his expertise as a cameraman and DoP with his director’s vision, he crafts and captures stories on the ground, often holding the camera himself.
Working with ad agencies such as Ogilvy, KBS+, Draft FCB, GREY; editorial clients, such as The New York Times and The New Yorker; and brands such as Porsche, West Elm, FOX Sports, Anheuser-Busch, Adidas, and Pepsi, his work has led him to receive multiple Vimeo Staff Picks. His most recent series, collaborating directly with the creative team from Sweetgreen, was featured on Nowness, and garnered him his fifth Vimeo pick on the trot.
