Julia Ngeow’s original flight plan had her studying Neuroscience through undergrad and doing cancer research at the Australian Cancer Council and Telethon Kids Institute. And she did just that. But as inspiration will have it she changed course, applying her considerable intellect, curiosity and technical acumen to filmmaking, exploring identity, psychology and perception in her work.
And that work has garnered her multiple awards and film festival inclusions, including “Best Narrative Short” at the New York Chain Film Festival for Eudemonia, Zuker Theater & Audience awards at the Astoria Film Festival and a Tash “Positive Images in the Media Award” for her 14 year old co-director Emma Zurcher-Long, all for Unspoken, which was also featured in i-D magazine. Her short documentary series I’m Moving To Mars premiered on Topic.com.
