The MLS made an open call looking for fan engagement ideas and director Toddy Stewart pitched an idea for a slightly more artistic and intensely fan-based film series. Taking his inspiration first from Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait directed by Douglas Gordon & Philippe Parreno, then Tokyo Olympiad by Kon Ichikawa, Toddy pitched an idea to the MLS to create films that capture what it really feels like to be an American soccer fan by filming and interviewing the fans themselves.
Operating as director, cameraman, interviewer and writer for three films about the incredible supporter culture surrounding the New York Red Bulls, Toronto F.C. and Sporting Kansas City
